Freedom Writers

In the movie we watched today minority students made a connection between their personal experiences and the Holocaust. What connections were you able to make between your life experiences and the students in the movie and the Holocaust? What connections were you able to make between your cultural (African American) experience and the Holocaust? Your response should be a well constructed essay with a minimum of 5 paragraphs. Be sure to respond to both of the above questions.

My connections with the students are a lot. As with loosing friends and family members to gun violence. Along with the background i live. As watching the movie i started thinking about the people i lost. How i have to worry about if ima be alive to see the next day.

With the Holocaust i see the connection of Hitler hating Jews as racism going on in my life. Epically with white cops, and few white people. That's about the only connection that i can really express.

As me being a young African American i see that we go through a lot. As well we came from a long way from what we been through,. So that later in life people in our generation can have it better.

I believe that the Holocaust was a big effect on the Jews cultural. That's because it seemed as though Hitler was trying to build an Utopian society. Starting off by eliminating Jews from over the world. It does relate to African American Slavery times to think about it. That's because in both situations the innocent people were taken from their homes and held captive. In some type of form to do work for the people they were captive for.

I was not able to make any connections between my life, the life of the students from the movie and the Holocaust. I have not lost any friends recently to killings.

I do not have a connection with the Holocaust because i do not discriminate against mine own race. The holocaust was hitler discriminating against his own race based upon there hair or eye color.

In the movie the students went through alot of trials and tribulations. Mainly based on there outside of school friends dying. They also had to go through a period of disliking there school teacher.

I think the holocaust had a effect on the jewish. Mostly because of Adolf Hitler. He was trying to kill all folks who were not just like him which is wrong. All people in the world do not have to look, dress or act the same.

I couldn't make a connection with the students in Freedom Writers. This is because i haven't lost a friend or family member due to gang violence lately.

Now with the holocaust i seen no type of connection with that incident towards my life.

With me being a young African American there will be racism towards me in my life as shown in the holocaust because there is still racism discrimination today.

In conclusion i think that the jewish were effected by the holocaust because the plan for the holocaust was to get rid of the jews.

I don't really have any connections with the students from the movie Freedom Writers. In that movie they tell how they've been shot at, abused, beaten up, struggling for money and how they've been out there on their own. Compared to how their lives are I've been living the good life. First of all I don't live in a type of neighborhood that shoot at people, second I've never been abused before by anyone. My family don't struggle for money because we can all provide for eachother and they have jobs. I also never been out on my own because I've always had a place to live with my mother.

To tell the truth I never even heard of the Holocaust. So I really don't know anything about what went on in that period of time. But from what I heard it was probably somthing like the dpression, where everyone didn't have a job and evryone didn't have any money to support themselves.

I believe that the Holocaust was ran by Hitler and he wanted to take over the world. He kept the jews as prisoners and if they didn't obey they were probably killed. I don't really understand the reasoning for Hitler to do this but only because he could and he had an army that followed him through everything that he did and went through.

Even though I don't know anything about the harsh life I do have family that have gone through some rough things. But I do know the struggle we have to go through because were black. I see and hear the struggle and all the other things that African Americans go through on the news. It's not good for us to that because then other people that are in our culture get mad and that want to take their anger out on other people including the cops. They really get mad at cops because most of them are white and they feel as though the cops that are white always take their anger out on blacks because their black. So thats where the fustration comes from.
